First of all, the route was nice. We went inside the military base 成功嶺 between 8 and 13 km. I did not analyze the route before and I was surprised to see a long uphill road to climb there. It was very quiet and peaceful. I saw in total less than 10 solders. Do solders wake up late in Taiwan?! And the end, we went through the rainbow village 彩虹眷村 too.

Unfortunately, I arrived too late at 5.35 am at the race. It was a big running event with a lot of people. Many people were already waiting near the starting line 20 min before the beginning. I left 45 seconds after the first people. My chance to finish with a great time were already very low.

The weather conditions were not great as well: hot and humid and the air was unhealthy: around 150 micrometers. I am happy that I did not run a marathon. Sunday night, I could not breathe well but now, it is ok.

In overall, I am happy with my race. The level for half marathon is always high in central of Taiwan. 16th is a good final position. Nobody overtook me between km 3 until the end. The big uphill in 成功嶺 helped me a lot too because I succeed to pass 10 people. And usually, always at least one people pass me in the last meters but not this time.

To finish, the race was very tired because I was far on the starting line and I have to pass maybe 1000 people in the first km. After, we (runners of half marathon) have to pass people who run 3 and 10 km between km 4 and km 8 and again between km 17 to the end, we have to pass them again! It was not easy because the road was very narrow sometimes. The organization was not the best.
